I am so happy to report that I made it to the Washington Coast and home. On this trip my people discovered that I am a cruiser and not a racer. As long as they drive me at 60-65 mph I float along just as nice as can be. All my new parts and pieces are running very smoothly. I had some really big grades to get up and over and I had plenty of power to do it. This trip to the coast was over 1100 miles. My lady person had a dead battery in her camera so there are no pictures to share. I went along the south side of the Columbia River and skirted around Portland to head north into Washington. Cut over on Hwy 6 and thru lots of nice little towns. Very nice scenery.
It was a hot trip over 100 degrees until we got to the ocean. Then it was in the 6-70's. The ocean town of Greyland was a sweet little place to visit with the cousins. The ocean was calm and their was sunshine. The two dogs, Toto and Sissy had a great time playing in the ocean. Sissy kept drinking the ocean water, she just could not understand why it was not like the lake or ditch water back home. She was one thirsty dog when she got back to camp. Toto dog was smart he did not drink the ocean water. We brought along a lot of corn and vegetables from home to share with the cousins. They did like the Idaho corn a lot. It was roasted on the BBQ.
On the trip home we went along the North side of the Columbia. This was also a very scenic route going thru various small towns. Spent the night up in the Blues, which had finally cooled down. And was able to coast on home the next day. I liked having the trip home split up. Going 12 straight hours was hard on my people. I sure do like this new set of people. They have put a lot of love into me and we are having fun. So until the next time, Happy Trails to you.....
